For the last few weeks, we have been working for our PYPX. Each of us have chosen a topic end we are inquiring deeply into it. We are learning a lot of things that we never knew before and we are engrossed in working for the final day.

PYP Exhibition 2017 opened the doors of experiential learning as we prepare to graduate to senior school at the end of this academic year. Fifth grade classrooms were buzzing with activity all through the month as we students explored a variety of issues through multiple perspectives, synthesized our learning, engaged in collaboration, reflected on global issues and took appropriate action.
As our lines of enquiry opened up, we started delving deep into the issue that stares hard at us all today. Our topic offered us a way to apply classroom knowledge like usage of green energy, conserving natural resources, preserving water quality and conscious land use to our lives. I felt like a living laboratory and realized that although these issues may be global, they ultimately have roots at the individual level.
We brainstormed our way into the designing of a survey on recording the awareness that people have on the steady warming of our planet. We developed questions and based on those, we moved further ahead into our inquiry. We received a good response as almost all our teachers encouraged us by participating in the survey. The presentation required a tremendous quantum of research. It involved new ideas giving shape to new slides everyday replacing the old ones with great alacrity. We continued until the form that the final presentation took, looked appealing enough to stimulate our audience to take action.
This exhibition has given us great insights into a world which we are carving for our future generations. It is exciting, sometimes alarming to look in there.
